Dhruv Sitwala overcomes  spirited Mukesh

Mumbai: International and India No.3 Dhruv Sitwala, who has some outstanding performances this year in billiards, found playing handicap snooker a different ball game as he overcame Mukesh Vadikarís stiff challenge to move into the second round of the  Rosy Blue sponsored Hindu Gymkhana-Wilson Jones All India Open Handicap Snooker championships, hosted by P.J.Hindu Gymkhana here on Friday.

Incidentally, Dhruvís show on international billiards circuit were pretty noteworthy..  He had finished second best in the World billiards championships at Singapore in October last year. This year, too, he made the title rounds in the Scottish Open (in U.K. ) and Australian Open (Melbourne) and Austria Open (in Vienna ), but again  finished second best in all these championships.

Today at his home table at Hindu Gymkhana, Dhruv, who was on plus 15 handicap to his rivalís plus 55, faced some anxious moments as he dropped the opening frame. But then  he gave some splendid display  while potting his way to winning the next two frames to emerge a 77-96, 103-70; 86-73 winner.

Another international Devendra Joshi, who gave his opponent Mahipal Nitore an advantage of 45 points, however, did not lose much of a time while brushing aside his rival 95-84, 97-70.
